Herbs For Your Health Series: “Herbs For The Skin” ~ Saturday, March 6th, 4pm. Instructed by Master Herbalist Jen Guise. Learn how herbal remedies are used to soothe eczema and dry or chapped skin, how to use all-natural, food-based methods to eliminate many skin problems, and herbs used to eliminate acne. Herbal Workshop: “Oils, Ointments and Salves” - Friday, March 19th 6pm. Learn how to make our own massage oils, herbal ointments and skin salves. Master Herbalist, Jennifer Guise will lead this informative workshop. She will also discuss the benefits/uses of various oils, helpful herbs to include in your ointments and salves, and a special garlic application that is wonderful during flu season. All Day Garden Seminars & Luncheon ~ Saturday, April 17th, 9am-2pm. We’ll start out the day at 9am with landscape design expert, Michael Larkin. He will share his knowledge with helpful
information on ways to spruce up your landscape. Learn easy design and maintenance tips that will give your yard what it needs to stand out. Bring your questions for discussion. At 10:30, our Nursery Managers will share information on new 2010 introductions. Lunch will consist of assorted salad sandwiches, macaroni salad, chips, a bakery tray and drinks. In the afternoon our Perennial department will discuss proper planting and maintenance of perennials as well as introduce some new, exciting varieties for this spring.

Mother/Daughter Pressed Flower Program ~ Tuesday, May 4th, 6pm. Just in time for Mother’s Day, this fun-filled class is a great way to spend some quality time together. Hypertufa Mushroom Garden Ornaments ~ Monday, May 17th & Thursday, May 20th, 6-7:30pm. In this 2 part class, each participant will create 2 garden ornaments that look like mushrooms using hypertufa (a mixture of sand, perlite, peat moss and cement). Please bring a pair of sturdy
rubber gloves and dress to get dirty! Class size is limited. Pre-registration and payment

Children’s Homeschool Class: All About Peanuts! ~ Wednesday, May 26th, 1-2pm. In this class we’ll learn almost everything there is to know about peanuts! Creating A Patio Container Garden ~ June 2nd, 6-7:30pm. Learn how to use small trees or shrubs with perennials and annuals in combinations that will brighten your garden year round; or bring seasonal interest to a deck or patio. Join Harrisburg Landscape Designer, Michael
Larkin for this informative class. Topics include choosing containers and plants, selecting the
right soil mix, feeding and maintaining your container gardens from year to year. You will
also see a demonstration on how to create a beautiful container for a porch, deck or patio.

Hypertufa Workshop ~ Saturday, June 12th, 10-12noon. Join Michael Larkin local horticulturist and trough and conifer expert, for this fun hands-on workshop for making hypertufa troughs. Each participant will make one of these fascinating, stone-like planters that are perfect for creating a miniature landscape of alpine plants, rocks and dwarf conifers. Pre-registration and

Ladies Garden Party ~ Thursday, June 17th, 6-8pm. Get away for an evening of relaxation and fun! Sample bath and body products, taste some great gourmet foods, check out new arrivals of jewelry and accessories as well as new arrivals in our home decor area.

Herbal Workshop: “Teas, Decoctions, Tinctures and Poultices” - Friday, June 18th 6pm. Learn how the early pioneers used simple poultices for serious issues. Master Herbalist, Jennifer Guise will lead this informative workshop. Learn how to properly prepare a tea (for example: some herbs are best cool steeped), how to make a decoction, and how to make your own affordable tincture. Pre-registration and payment required. Concrete Leaf Class ~ Wednesday, June 30th, 6-7:30pm. Leaf casting is great fun and easy to do. In this class you will learn the tricks to create a cement mold of a plant leaf. The leaf’s natural depressions and veins are captured in cement mix. They can be painted and used as art for on the wall, as stepping stones or bird baths. In this class we will make 2 leaves and discuss the various ways they can be painted later at home. Please bring a pair of sturdy rubber gloves. Pre-registration and payment required. Fee: $15.00

The Beauty Of Butterflies ~ Saturday, August 7th. Make plans to join us for this wonderful day that’s all about butterflies! We’ll have children’s activities, a butterfly house, fun displays and a

Fall Harvest Days ~ October 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 and the 11th through 30th (excluding Sundays and weather permitting). Bring the whole family! Children of all ages will delight in the fall season at Ashcombe. Take a wagon ride, pick-your-own pumpkin, have fun in our newly
enlarged play area and enjoy some delicious harvest foods.

boosting your immunity. Find out how herbs can help increase your body’s resistance to

Topiary Workshop ~ Tuesday, November 9th, 5:30pm. In this class, each participant will make a
beautiful single stem and ball topiary using flowers, twigs and pods. The stem will be made
from cinnamon sticks or a crooked branch (participant’s choice). The base will be sprayed
