JULY Saturday, July 11th ~ Yard Sale. Beginning at 7:00am. Join us for this annual event. Saturday, July 25th ~ Children’s Class - Make Your Own Butterfly House. Learn how to make the perfect host environment for a caterpillar to enter the pupa stage, then take your house home and wait for the butterfly to emerge. For children 5 - 11. 9:00-10:00am. Fee: $5.00. August 1st ~ Butterfly Day. Make plans to join us for
this wonderful day that’s all about butterflies! We’ll have
kid’s activities, a butterfly house, a butterfly gardening seminar,
fun displays and a long-awaited butterfly release at noon. Call ahead
to purchase your own butterfly to release. Deadline is July 8th. Ask
for Kerri. Monroe Fire Company will offering a chicken barbecue

August 15th ~ Children’s Class - Cement Leaf Cast Workshop.
Each child will make a cement leaf using a real leaf as a mold and cement.
After they dry, the leaf veining will be imprinted in the cement and
the leaves can be used in the home or garden. For children 5 - 11. 9:00-10:00am.
Fee: $5.00. Pre-registration
is required. Saturday, August 22nd ~ Dog Days. Grab your dog and join us for a morning of fun. We’ll have organizations offering dog adoption opportunities, vendors selling dog products, a jetset demonstration, dog wash and more! 8:00am-12noon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEPTEMBER Wednesday, September 16th ~ Basic Orchid Care. let each child collect flowers and leaves from the garden then come

September 23rd ~ Silk Flower Arranging Workshop.
Learn the basics of arranging silk flowers with our own floral designer,
Nedra McKee. Each participant will make a beautiful silk arrangement.

First we’ll make a base wreath using potted herbs and pansies, then we’ll fill the center with gourds, mini corn and mini pumpkins for a fabulous fall display! 5:30pm. Fee: $35.00. October 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th and the 12th through the 31st (excluding Sundays) Join us for this annual event for the whole family. Children all ages delight in the fall season at Ashcombe. Take a wagon ride, pick-your-own pumpkin, take your best shot at our corn maze and enjoy some delicious harvest foods. (Hayrides can be scheduled by appointment on additional days.) Saturday, October 3th ~ Fire Safety & Awareness Day. Make plans to join us for this annual event for the whole family. Local fire companies and rescue services will be here to educate children and families on life saving techniques and equipment. Fire and ambulance apparatus will be on display for viewing and demonstrations. Monroe Fire Company will offering a chicken barbecue meal today here at Ashcombe! Thursday,
October 8th ~ Lemon Leaf Wreath With Natural Highlights.
Each participant will hand-craft a beautiful wreath using lemon leaves,
grasses, pods, branches, dried flowers and pine cones. 5:30pm. Fee:

November 19th - Topiary Workshop.
In this class, each participant will make a beautiful topiary using
flowers, twigs and pods. The stem will be made from cinnamon sticks
or a thick crooked branch for more character (participant’s choice).

is required. Saturday, November 21st ~ Children’s Class - Make A Garland For The Birds. As the weather turns colder, our feathered friends need a little help. It’s time to start thinking about wrapping gifts! In this class
we’ll learn how to make gorgeous bows that will be passed around

is required. Tuesday, December 15th ~ Boxwood Tree Workshop. Another traditional favorite! Each participant will make a beautiful tree (approximately 20” tall) using fresh boxwood, then decorate it using flowers, ribbons and ornaments.
