JULY Children’s
Homeschool Class: Decorative Seed Jars ~ Wednesday, July 7th, 12:30-1:30pm.
We will make beautiful jars layered with different types and colors
of seeds and sand. Ages 5-12+. Pre-registration required. Register at

July 10th. Beginning at 7am. Make plans to join us for this annual event. Children’s
Class: Egg Carton Bugs! ~ Saturday, July 10th, 9-10am. We will create
adorable bugs from egg cartons. Ages 5-12+. Pre-registration is required.
Fee: $5.00 Concrete Leaf Bird
Bath ~ July 12th & 14th, 6-7:30pm. Participants will create a cement
bird bath and base from rhubarb leaves (on July 12th), then return after
the bird bath is cured (on the 14th), to finish their projects. Wear
old clothes so you can enjoy “playing in mud”. Please bring
a pair of sturdy rubber gloves. Pre-registration and payment required.

Garden And Into The Kitchen ~ Tuesday, July 27th, 11am. Marty Harry
will lead this delicious class! Learn how to harvest, dry and use your

AUGUST The Beauty Of Butterflies
~ Saturday, August 7th. Make plans to join us for this wonderful day
that’s all about butterflies! We’ll have children’s
activities, a butterfly house, fun displays and a long-awaited butterfly
release at noon. Call ahead to purchase your own butterfly to release.

Homeschool Class: Using Herbs In Recipes ~ Wednesday, August 11th, 12:30-1:30pm.
We will make recipes using different herbs and have LOTS of taste testing!

August 21st, 8am-12noon. Bring your pooch for this morning of fun! We’ll
have various organizations on hand offering dog adoption opportunities,

SEPTEMBER
Hypertufa Workshop
~ September 11, 10-12 noon. Join Michael Larkin, local horticulturist
and trough and conifer expert, for this fun, hands-on workshop for making
hypertufa troughs. Each participant will make one of these fascinating,
stone-like planters that are perfect for creating a miniature landscape
of alpine plants, rocks and dwarf conifers. Pre-registration and payment

~ October 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 and the 11th through 30th (excluding Sundays
and weather permitting). Bring the whole family! Children of all ages
will delight in the fall season at Ashcombe. Take a wagon ride, pick-your-own
pumpkin, have fun in our newly Herbs For Your Health
Series: “Immune Boosting Herbs” ~ Friday, October 1st, 6pm.
Instructed by Master Herbalist Jen Guise. This time of year is a great
time to think about boosting your immunity. Find out how herbs can help
increase your body’s resistance to disease and what foods to include
in your diet for maximum function of your immune system. Pre-registration

Awareness Day ~ Saturday, October 2nd. Local fire companies and rescue
srvices will be here to educate children and families on life saving
techniques and equipment. Fire and ambulance apparatus will be on display.
Let’s Get Ready For Fall! ~ Saturday, October 2nd, 10-11:30am. Get great tips for keeping your garden healthy and beautiful. Luncheon ~ Thursday, November 4th, 11am. This tasty luncheon will comfort
and warm you from the inside out! Enjoy a lunch featuring several different
kinds of soups and breads -- all made right here in our kitchen. Lunch
will also include dessert and drinks. Recipes will be available -- great

Series: “Herbal Energy Boosts” ~ Friday, November 5th, 6pm.
Instructed by Master Herbalist Jen Guise. Learn about herbs and foods
to maximize your energy level. Topics will include herbs that help with

been used to help with depression and anxiety. Pre-registration required.
Fee: $10.00 Topiary Workshop
~ Tuesday, November 9th, 5:30pm. In this class, each participant will
make a beautiful single stem and ball topiary using flowers, twigs and
pods. The stem will be made from cinnamon sticks or a crooked branch
(participant’s choice). The base will be sprayed terra-cotta.
