Mommy & Me: Hand Print Tree Tues, Apr. 3, 10am

We’ll embrace spring by make some Spring inspired tree art. Each child and parent will work together to make their tree. The trunk of the tree will be made by our handprints and the leaves will be fun and fuzzy pom-poms. This class is for children 4 years and under. A parent or guardian must stay with the child. Preregistration required. Fee: $5.00

April 7th and 8th

Our newly expanded Nursery will be opening up! All of our Trees, shrubs, and perennials will be in one, convenient department across from the main store.

Children’s Craft Class: Poured Paint Flower Pot Sat, Apr. 14, 10am
We’ll have fun creating a unique flower pot by learning how to pour paint to create designs. The flower pot will need to dry at home. One plant per child and soil will be provided to take home and plant once the pot dries. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration and payment required. Create your own Flowering Hanging Basket Thurs, Apr. 19, 5:30pm
Create a 12” flowering hanging basket for sun or shade with homegrown annuals from Ashcombe. One basket per person. Preregistration and payment required. Fee: $40.00

 

 

Story Time Fri, Apr. 20, 10:30am
Bring the kids for story time! We’ll have milk and cookies from our Bakery. FREE to participate!

Pruning Techniques Sun, Apr. 22, 11:15am
Join Michael Larkin and learn the when, where and why of pruning! This class will demonstrate and discuss the various methods of pruning small trees and shrubs, when certain plants should be pruned and how proper pruning can produce a healthier, more attractive and longer-living plant. (Dress appropriately, this class will go outside). Preregistration and payment required. Fee: $10.00

 

Plant your own Mixed Container Thurs, Apr. 26, 5:30pm
Bring your own container or purchase one from us, then let us help you design and plant a beautiful flowering container. Soil is free. Plants must be purchased at Ashcombe. Preregistration required.

Mommy & Me: Make a Butterfly Tues, May. 1, 10am
We’ll get crazy with color in this class! Each child and parent will work together to make two of their own colorful butterflies using recycled egg cartons and paint. This class is for children 4 years and under. A parent or guardian must stay with the child. Preregistration required. Fee: $5.00

 

 

 

Children’s Craft Class: Mother’s Day Planter Sat, May. 12, 10am
We’ll paint a pot just for mom and then we’ll plant it up! We’ll also make a card to go with it. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration and payment required. Fee $10.00.

Story Time Fri, May. 18, 10:30am
Bring the kids for story time! We’ll have milk and cookies from our Bakery. FREE to participate!

Children’s Craft Class: Butterfly Container Garden Sat, May 26, 10am
Attract butterflies with this Butterfly Container Garden. Each child will design their own container garden in a 12” pot with butterfly-friendly plants. We will also paint our own butterfly garden charm to stick in our container. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration and payment required. Fee $10.00.

Mommy & Me: Flower Suncatcher Tues, Jun. 5, 10am
Each child and parent will work together to make a colorful suncatcher in the shape of a flower. We will use scissors to make our design and tissue paper to decorate. This class is for children 4 years and under. A parent or guardian must stay with the child. Preregistration required. Fee: $5.00

Stop and Smell the Roses Thurs, Jun. 7, 6pm
Looking to change your luck with growing roses? Join David Wilson from Overdevest Nursery to discuss everything about roses. You will be impressed by his vast knowledge of roses and plants in general. Complimentary wine sampling from Adams County Winery will also be available. Deep discounts on roses will be offered to those who register and attend this event! What could be better – roses, wine, and discounts! FREE to attend. Preregistration required.

Backyard BBQ Sat, Jun. 9, 10-3pm
We’ll show you how to host a sizzlin’ backyard barbecue! The day will include grilling demonstrations and food sampling. Flyers with all the details will be available in May!

Children’s Craft Class: My First Herb Garden Sat, Jun. 9, 10am
We’ll take a tour of where our herbs are grown and then we’ll pot our very own! Each child will get to pot some herbs to make their own herb garden. We’ll make garden markers to go with them too. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration and payment required. Fee $10.00.

Succulent Bowl Workshop Sat, Jun. 9, 10am
Learn how to make a succulent container with Michael Larkin. Succulents are unique, sun-loving plants that do not require lots of care. We will design and plant a container with succulents of all shapes, sizes and colors. Provided will be a unique container, several succulents, soil, rocks and instructions on how to care for you plants. Preregistration and payment required. Fee: $30.00

Terrarium & Fairy Garden Workshop Sat, Jun. 16, 11am
Participants can make either an elegant Terrarium or a cute Fairy Garden! Fee is $5.00 plus plants and supplies. Preregistration and payment required. You may bring your own container or purchase one here.

 

 

Cement Hosta Leaves Workshop Sat, Jun. 30, 10am
Leaf casting is great fun and easy to do! Join Michael Larkin in creating cement hosta leaves for your garden. Learn the tricks to create a cement mold of a plant leaf. The leaf’s natural depressions and veins are captured in cement mix. They can be painted and used as wall art, bird baths, or bird feeders. We will make 2 hosta leaves and discuss ways they can be painted later at home. Please bring a pair of sturdy rubber gloves.  Preregistration and payment required. Fee: $20.00

Hypertufa Container Workshop Sat, Jun. 30, 1pm
Join Michael Larkin to create a decorative Hypertufa container for your garden. Each participant will create a round hypertufa container (a mixture of peat, perlite and Portland cement) that can be used on a patio or in the garden year-round. Please bring a pair of sturdy rubber gloves and dress to get dirty!
Preregistration and payment required. Fee: $30.00
