John Bear is one of Ashcombe’s owners and has been with the company since 1977. When he’s not working hard, he enjoys watching wild life and spending time with his wife, children, and grand-dogs.

Deb Shearer

Retail

Deb Shearer is one of Ashcombe’s owners and has worked here since 1970. She enjoys gardening, “yard sailing” and spending time with her family.

Kerri Laudig

Retail

Kerri Laudig manages our retail greenhouse and also the Gift Shop and Boutique.  She enjoys kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her two young sons.

Jim Damschroder

Accounting

Jim Damschroder has been with Ashcombe since 2012.  Jim has lived in PA longer than he lived in Ohio, but he’ll never stop bleeding for the Cleveland Browns. Jim got his accounting degree at Ohio Wesleyan University. He’s married to an award-winning novelist. They have two brilliant daughters. When Jim’s not crunching numbers he loves history and watching sports with his family.

Chris Boland

Production

Chris Boland is a Grower at Ashcombe and has been with the company since 1997. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family.

Cherie Lane

Human Resources

Cherie Lane is our Human Resource Manager and has been with Ashcombe since 2011. She loves to spend time with her family and friends.

Brandon Kuykendall

Nursery

Brandon Kuykendall is the Manager of our Trees & Shrubs and Perennials departments.   He also runs our Landscape Design program!  When not at Ashcombe, you can find him rooting for the Redskins.

Greg Spahr

Garden Supply

Greg Spahr is Ashcombe’s Garden Supplies Manager.  When he is not working here, he can be found working on his farm and enjoying time spent with his grandchildren.

Joe Rhoads

Joe is our Maintenance Manager.  When he isn’t here, fixing and building, he’s enjoying time spent with his two daughters.

Margaret Krause

Cafe

Margaret is our Cafe Manager.  She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and making new items for our menu.  You can also find her at story time, reading to all the children at Ashcombe.
